This website was created by Andrew Falconer as a marketing tool for his metallurgical consulting business TiTan Metallurgical Services (TTMS), and to provide free introductory information to persons interested in the following subjects:
· mineral, silica and iron sands processing
· tin, tungsten and tantalum processing
· gravity separation
· magnetic separation
· electrostatic separation
· screening, classifying and dewatering
· metallurgical accounting
Andrew has a Bachelors Degree BSc (honours) in Minerals Engineering from Birmingham University, UK, graduating in 1973, and a Masters Degree M.Min.Tech from Otago University, NZ, graduating in 1979.
Andrew has since accumulated over 35 years experience in these subjects, and has had many metallurgical roles in operations and development, primarily in the titanium (mineral sands), tantalum, tin and tungsten mineral processing industries, both in Australia and overseas.
Andrew's areas of expertise include flow sheet development, pilot plant operations, plant commissioning, process optimisation, sampling & metallurgical accounting and operator training.
Since 2004 Andrew has been assisting primarily the mineral sands, silica sands, iron sands, tantalum, tin and tungsten processing industries as an independent self employed metallurgist under the name of TiTan Metallurgical Services (TTMS).
